March sewing…

March is always a busy month, with Amber’s birthday, but this time we also had schools reopening and the pup being poorly. Along with loads of other crazy bits and bobs! I don’t know where the month went…

At the beginning of the month I finished off a huge project, something I can’t wait to show off. That along with everything else meant I needed something nice and easy to make.

I’d been wanting to make the fehr thong for a while, perfect for scraps and a simple project. I made the medium, but it’s big on me, so I need to take it in, or make a smaller version next time. But I’ve now got something else to match my gorgeous emerald velvet bra.

When I saw cutting thread looking for pattern testers for the Corin shirt, I had to apply, just because of the name! It’s a gorgeous pattern, I chose to make the shorter sleeves with the drop hem. I made it from left overs of the leopard print bedsheets I used in last month’s dress. Nope, I definately don’t have enough animal print in my life! I finished it off with some gold vintage buttons.

The detail on the ruffle neck collar is what drew me to the pattern, it’s stunning!

I discovered on instagram, the hashtag #frugalfrocks2021 and had to join in! It’s completely me, I love dresses and I love all things frugal. I discovered the hashtag in the last week of March, with the deadline being 31st, I needed to go for something fairly easy to sew. The Siella dress pattern was free on love sewing magazine, the fabric I’ve had in my stash for a while. They were the perfect combination that I’d thought about when rooting through my stash when I first got the pattern, this challenge was the perfect push to get it made!

The fabric is gorgeous, a floral embossed ponte roma in baby pink. I added ‘ribbing’ to the arms and neckline, as I prefer the finish to turning under hems on jersey. I styled with a vintage butterfly belt and stood infront of the pinkest house I could find.

A sneak peak of that big project I mentioned earlier…
