Little Souls Crafting…

Our lovely playgroup runs every Thursday at All Souls church, I’ve had the privilege of organising crafts for a little while now, these were some of the crafts from last term. The group is for children from newborn up to 5 years and their parents, grandparents and carers. We try and make the craft accessible for all ages that attend, so that everyone can join in!

The story of Jesus’ ascension…

These little cups covered in cotton wool (clouds) with Jesus dangling on a ribbon or pipe cleaners so he could be moved up and down amused the children and adults.

The Holy Spirit comes at Pentecost…

The children created their own flames from collaged tissue paper, glitter and sequins.

Peter heals the lame man…

The children were given a dancing man to colour in and play with. We created the dancing man by cutting a figure in two at the waist and using a split pin so his legs could jump and dance.

The lost sheep…

Really fun and simple sheep were made from doilies.

Fathers Day…

Bearing in mind some families may not celebrate this day for whatever reason, we went with a handprint craft and text that said ‘Thank you for helping me grow’

The parable of the mustard seed…

Using found leaves and twigs and cut out birds the children created their own gorgeous trees.

The greatest party…

The children decorated party hats and played with balloons.

Jasper’s 2nd birthday…

Our sweet, cheeky baby boy is now 2! People always say they cannot believe how quickly time goes, so it’s cliche but these past two years have gone by so fast.

My favourite present was this bike, it was painted for Jasper by my grandad, it’s something he did for me as a child and I adored it, unfortunately we don’t have it anymore, so we’ll treasure this one.

This rocking horse was a bargain found on Facebook marketplace, sanded down, repainted and varnished, it’s another favourite of Jasper’s, and mine.

Morning chaos, balloons everywhere and present opening. Jasper was absolutely spoilt rotten and given some gorgeous presents that will last him.

The party set up…

We went with a jungle theme as Jasper loves animals, lots of green balloons and leaves with toy animals to decorate.

A simple vanilla sponge with raspberry and lime curd filling and vanilla buttecream cake with palm leaves and a tiger toy decoration. It was a busy few days leading up to Jasper’s birthday so keeping everything as easy as possible was needed. The curd was made earlier in the week, meaning a simple sponge and throwing it altogether was all that I had to do.

I love this picture, my face is ridiculous but my lovely grandad in the back round!

A family portrait…

Happy birthday baby boy!

Garden Furniture Upcycle…

Our garden furniture was cheap, was a bit boring and the table top had gone moudly, I wanted to take this as a chance to make something unique for us.

We found a cross section of gorgeous wood we thought would be perfect, it was sanded down and then varnished with yacht varnish to make it long lasting.

We spray painted the chairs first with metal primer and then with a gorgeous pink. We also made some floral cushions from fabric found at a charity shop.

The original table top was unscrewed and the gorgeous wooden slab was popped on instead.

The pinknisnt to everyone’s taste but it’s unique and a bit of us.
