Zimpli Kids SnoBall Play…

We haven’t had any snow in Eastbourne this year, it doesn’t look too hopeful either buuut it’s ok Zimpli Kids has come to the rescue with SnoBall Play. Amber was very excited for snow so we thought we’d head to the beach, as it’s our favourite place and then the children could make as much mess and noise as they wished!

We mixed it up gradually as we heard you didn’t need to use as much water as the box states if you want snowballs that stay together and I was curious to see the different stages while it was mixed.

Amber’s face in this picture says it all, she was thrilled when it started looking exactly like snow. But not cold, which was a major bonus according to Amber.

Jasper has never experienced real snow yet, but loved feeling this stuff. The packet states for over 3 years so we just kept a close eye on him. Plus it also states that the product is non toxic.

So this is where it got really fun, I mean look at that cheeky face!

Jasper literally has no clue what is going on, but I’m loving this series of photos, you can see how it stays formed in the air then explodes when it hits, just like real snow!

We were all covered in it by the end, but it was easily brushed off, no damage at all. Before we left I added more water to some left over, it just dissolved away, so no harm done to the beautiful beach and not as much mess as I feared it could be.

The happiness in Amber’s face here is amazing, we definately need some more! When Jasper understands more, or for playing with Amber’s friends.

Amber reckoned that SnoBall Play was better than real snow as it’s not cold and it feels lovely (the words of a nearly 5 year old)

We were gifted this from Zimpli Kids but all opinions are our own!

Mother’s Day…

It’s not until you’re older, sometimes not until you have your own that you realise the lengths you go to, to provide the best for your children, I’d do anything to protect them, to nurture them and to make sure they turn out to be the best possible little humans… You realise all your own Mum has done for you and everything she still does… Grateful for my Mumma, my Granny and for my babies!
Happy Mother’s Day, let’s throw it back to the 90s and this cheese face my sister still pulls…

I wasn’t really expecting anything this year, other than the crafts they do at nursery, so it meant a lot when my mum helped Amber with a few bits. And how amazing is Amber’s writing getting now?!

We had a little afternoon tea with my mum and grandparents. I had bought a mini bundt tin and wanted to experiment with those and marbelling, I was pretty happy with how these turned out…

If you wanted to make some, these were made using a tin from Lidl and my fail safe vanilla cupcake recipe here with half the batter pink.

DIY simplest baby mobile ever…

I’ve finally completed Jasper’s bedroom area, finishing off with a really simple mobile. He is pretty excited by it, I’m not sure it’s going to help him sleep though!

I started off with a cheap mobile base which I found on eBay and a copper ring, the kind you can make dream catchers from. I then simply tied and sewed ribbons to attach to the mobile and then again ribbons to hang downwards. I didn’t fill the ring as I like the base metal colour and I quite like the messy, untidy look.

I may need to shorten some of the ribbons as he’s able to grab, but at the moment Jasper us enjoying letting the ribbons run through his fingers.
